They Also Serve - published today

The new February issue of the Breaking Rules Publishing The Scribe Magazine is now available. Inside you’ll find authors and poets from around the USA, Canada and England. The issue contains my short story, "They Also Serve," about a woman air raid warden during the London Blitz in WW2.

The story and my efforts to find it a home were both an exercise in perseverance. The story was rejected 19 times before it sold at professional rates.

Barbara Starr Flies Again

Sometimes weeks pass without a new sale or a new release. Sometimes they seem to come every day. On January 14, 2020, DBNB Publishing released their anthology, Solitude. My short story, "Barbara Starr, Space Detective," is the first story in the book.

This is the second time, Barbara has seen print in an anthology about being alone.

In all fairness to my friends and family, I do not lead a lonely life. I'm surrounded by amazing people, who manage to tolerate my irascible nature and behavior. I admire and thank them for their forbearance.

275 day run streak

Today my running streak reached day 275 consecutive days - 1155 miles during that stretch, including runs in three countries and seven states. The longest run was seven miles and the shortest was 1.12 miles. On day 272, I ran in the snow for the second time.

Received my author's copies of "Dark Transitions" published by Thirteen O'Clock Press yesterday. It include my horror story, "Black Moon Rising."Creepy story, creepy cover.

Oven of the Flaming God - In Italian - Yea

The Italian version of the Big Book of Blasphemy (Il Grande Libro Blasfemo). The cover art is by Vincent Chong, and Independent Legions will publish in November 2020. It has my story, Oven of the Flaming God (Forno Del Dio Fiammeggiante.) The French version is in the works. Il Grande Libro Blasfemo.
